The summer of car camping (but really fall camping) continues with a weekend trip to Lake Arrowhead. We stayed at one of my favorite sites in Dogwood Campground just outside of town. It features a lot shade and privacy than other standard campgrounds around the state. We spent a full day getting breakfast at Lake Gregory and doing a short hike to Heart Rock. Before embarking on the hike, we got a briefing about the route from some locals who told us to look out for the ‘stump throne’. The day concluded with chess and wine drinking back at camp.
