Butterfly Farm

The milkweed patch Laura planted last year in our front yard has been a hot bed of Monarch activity this year. She diligently spots the caterpillars gorging on the milkweed and after they have had their fill, transports them to safe places to undergo their metamorphosis. We’ve been giving away chrysalises to our local friends all spring and been lucky to witness a few hatchings ourselves. I dubbed our first butterfly “Marty McButterfly” who is prominently featured in these photos. Pro tip, everyone should plant milkweed in their yard to help the Monarches. They’re super cool and important pollinators.
