For the Memorial Day weekend I did something I haven’t done in 18 months, got on a plane! In general, the experience of commercial flying is as bad as I remember, if not a little worse but it afforded us a visit to my Dad and Cheryl which was long overdue. We spent a full day at my Dad’s place in Eastover. We didn’t get in any rides in the RV8 since it was a soggy and cool day but we did get to tour the shop and learn all about the new sailboat project. On Memorial Day we headed up to Norfolk to spend a couple days. Cheryl’s son, Eric, owns a the local Benchtop Brewery and while there gave us the VIP treatment. On Tuesday we wandered some neighborhoods, had lunch in downtown Norfolk, and explored the local art museum. A short but jam packed trip that allowed me to explore a city I would probably never think to go to on my own.
