Paradise on the Guadalupe

The final stage of the Thanksgiving holiday tour was all about the Texas hill country. On Friday the whole fam packed up the jeep and headed out to the Folks’ new river lot on the Guadalupe for a picnic lunch. My Mom and David put a lot of work to clear the lot of dense shrubbery before our arrival and it was a great place to spend the afternoon. We got just enough of a break in the rain to have a bon fire and roast classic mallows and the not so classic oysters on a stick. Saturday we hit up the Canyon Lake house where my Aunt is building her new homestead. Sunday was the chillest of the days with another quick visit with Anna at the Burnt Bean Co. I’m glad we got 1 more BBQ joint in before heading back to CA. The capper to the whole trip was a nail biting game of canasta with the family 🙂
