Not even a week passed and I was headed back to Santa Barbara County. But this time I had a Laura with me! The Juneteenth holiday weekend is quickly becoming our annual Ojai camping trip weekend. And although Ojai is the prime objective, its really a trifecta of three great central coast towns with full days spent in Carpenteria, Ojai, and Santa Barbara. Laura was long overdue for a weekend away. Her last respite from LA was our Mammoth trip back in March. She’s been very focused on preparing for her landscape licensing exams.

The camping aspect of this trip was solidly on the glamping side. We were basically at the campsite to sleep and most of the day time was spent in town. True to previous year’s traditions, we also got in some time at the beach and on the bicycles. However when it came to face the 101 traffic on the last day we just couldn’t do it. So we spontaneously booked a cheap room at a hotel in the affectionally named “Funk Zone” of Santa Barbara and spent one more evening living the good life. We did pay the piper the next morning when we work up early to drive back to LA in time for work.
