North End

Laura and I just concluded a summer vacation in Maine and it was fantastic! We started the journey with a non-stop flight from LAX to Logan and rather than immediately make the 5 hour drive to our destination in Maine, we opted to stay 1 night in Boston. We arrived with just enough time to get settled into our room and grab the T to the North End. First we hit up a cocktail bar called “Parla” which had a fun cocktail game called “The Dungeon Master”. Basically, you roll a 20 sided die that corresponds to a blind drink menu. After the die is cast, you get what you get. I rolled a 14 and ended up with the “Hotchata”. A spicy and boozy take on the Mexican Horchata. It was tasty! After cocktails, we scrambled to find an Italian restaurant with availability and eggplant parm. Apparently reservations are a good idea in the peak of tourist season. The evening appropriately concluded with cannoli at Modern Pastry and nightcaps at Wicked Craft Co.
