Ba Na Hills

On the day we left the wellness resort we were scheduled to move to a new hotel about 30 minutes down the road in the smaller town of Hoi An. Since we had a gap of a few hours between the check-out of one hotel and the check-in of another, I arranged for us to visit the local tourist oddity “Sun World: Ba Na Hills”. It’s Vietnam Disney. Everything is designed to provide the European experience in the most cliché way possible. The most popular attraction and what originally got my attention is the Golden Bridge or “hand” bridge (for obvious reasons). The bridge is kind of a stop on the cable car ride to the European village and is jam packed with selfie stick toting tourists. It takes some clever positioning but eventually you can get a photo without someone walking through it. The village itself is also remarkable with every 100 feet or so morphing into another European country. My obvious favorite was the German beer plaza where they served “yellow beer” by the 1L stein. We didn’t stay long but certainly came away to our fair share of selfies.
