We achieved a parenting milestone over the holiday break by shlepping our infant daughter to Texas to visit extended family and friends. We started by spending a few days in the Houston area with Laura’s sister and then moved on to the Texas hill country for wedding and Christmas day with my sister. Lucy was very popular and ultimately got to see just about the whole family tree from Nanas, Papas, Aunties (regular & great), Uncles, and Cousins (1st & 2nd).

I also learned a lot about flying with a lap baby and my anxiety about future family trips has been significantly reduced. Lucy proved to be an excellent flyer and while she didn’t sleep as much as I hoped, her giggly bubbliness made her a source of smiles for everyone around her.
