Due to transportation layovers during my bidness trip, I was afforded about 1.5 days of tourist time in Madrid. Not nearly enough time to fully enjoy the city but if I know one thing it’s how to squeeze opportunity out of a work trip. Upon landing I fought through sleepiness to orient myself to the city by way of a bicycle tour. On the return journey, jet lag was no longer an issue and I was able to fully enjoy the sights & tastes of the city. I took an excellent free walking tour with Spanish/Scottish guide Angel. I also took in an outstanding flamenco show and sampled some local craft beers at bars near my hotel. I hope to return to this city soon with Laura in tow.
