The flavor of summer vacation has drastically changed this year and not for the worse. This year we joined our California-Fam on their epic group vacation to northwestern Wyoming. The group consisted of 6 families equating to 12 adults and 10 kids. We spent a week exploring 2 national parks and the surrounding Jackson Hole area. This was by far the most challenging trip with Lucy because we were without the infrastructure that family had provided us when visiting Texas and the East Coast. But ultimately I have to admit that the juice was worth the squeeze.
Grand Teton National Park was where we spent our first full day. We got the whole group up and moving early to beat the crowds to Jenny Lake. We were moderately successful. While parking was not ideal, the line for the boat shuttle to get across the lake wasn’t too bad. Once across the lake, we hiked a small loop trail to a massive waterfall. After lunch, we returned in the afternoon to go swimming at Leigh Lake.
