Thanksgiving break was extremely busy for us this year. We hosted Thanksgiving dinner for 20ish members of our Califamily while also hosting out-of-state family. Then Laura threw me a 40th birthday extravaganza! After leaving Lucy with her loving Auntie Em, Laura and I checked into a suite in downtown Long Beach. From there, we hosted our friends at a local sake bottle shop (Sake Secret) with catered Mediterranean feast. We concluded the evening with more drinks back at our suite. It was nice to converse with our friends in a no-children environment. Much discussion was made about what to do for the remaining friends’ 40th birthdays. The arms race for best party is continually evolving…
