After missing the opportunity to camp at my favorite site outside Lake Arrowhead last year due to wildfire, it was exciting to return this year with both Laura and Lucy. This trip served as Lucy’s first camping trip. I spent the previous weekend getting her acclimated to the idea of sleeping in a tent. Unsurprisingly, she loved the idea of test sleeping and camping in general. We got lucky this year with some temperate weather that didn’t leave us freezing our butts off in the morning.

In addition to just hanging around camp, we visited the Lake Arrowhead Oktoberfest, a local brewery, and the central village area. It was also nice to visit on an off-weekend day and avoid the crowds. Fingers-crossed, I’ll roll this success into a Catalina family camping trip early next year.
