About as quickly as Lucy and I returned home from Texas for Thanksgiving, I repacked and headed to Cleveland on a work trip. The majority of my time was spent at the NASA Armstrong Test Facility near Sandusky but on the day I flew back to LA, I killed some time at The Christmas Story House. I learned that the house that served as the backdrop setting was in Cleveland, despite the movie being set in Indiana, sometime over the past year or so. Apparently majority of the film that didn’t involve exterior shots of the house were filmed in Toronto or a sound stage. Regardless, I found the setup very charming. For a couple bucks, you get a guided tour through the house, access to a memorabilia museum, and of course, a very elaborate gift shop. Would recommend to anyone looking for something to do beyond the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
