For several years, our friends Patti, Rahul, and Mia have opened their house in early December to host a cookie decorating party. Its a slightly chaotic affair that involves about a dozen kids handling piles of cookies, gallons of royal icing, and tons of sprinkles. As a bonus, after the cookie dust settles, we tour the neighborhood to enjoy the holiday lights. Most people in this neighborhood go above and beyond with the light displays. So much so the whole area is packed with cars and other pedestrians.
