Our last chunk of summer vacation was a quick trip to the Texas and Laura accomplished something we had been wanting to do since my folks finished their house. She convinced the Crails to drive down from the North Texas area for a weekend of pool lounging and consumption. All objectives were accomplished along with a a bonus objective (quick putt-putt trip). Everyone appreciated David’s dinners of BBQ brisket and fried flounder.

After the Crails departed on Sunday, we had a couple more days to bum around the area so Lucy, my Mom, and I tried our luck at fishing the river. This was our first visit since the house was built that the river was reliably retaining water. Thanks El Nino…
