Our first Texas family trip of 2026 is in the books. The timing of the visit was planned around my Aunt and Uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary. Held in Schertz, TX. It was nice to see so many of the extended family in one place again. It rarely happens since the passing of my grandparents. It was a classic Texas affair with food and dancing hosted at a church community center. I always welcome an excuse to wear thew boots and Stetson.

The other highlight of the trip was the crawfish boil. David purchased sizeable poundage of live crawfish that we first ate as a classic Cajun seafood boil and then turned into a rich etouffee. As a bonus, it was just hot enough on crawfish day to make use of the pool.
